New Zealander Sandra Kyle has been advocating for animals through public outreach, writing and speaking since the 1990s, and has been doing vigils, often solitary, since 2015.  For nearly four years she produced and presented an award-winning Animal Rights radio show, and has publicly campaigned for the end of slaughterhouses, as well as greyhound and horse racing. 

She is the recipient of the Philip Wollen Animal Welfare (2018), and has been nominated for the St Francis of Assissi, and the Good as Gold Awards, for her activism.  She has written a book ‘Pawprints on my Heart, A New Zealand Woman’s Journey To Help Street Animals in India,’ and has a nonprofit for Indian street animals. 

Sandra is a founding member of the Animal Justice Party of Aotearoa New Zealand, and is contesting her third election for the AJP in the national elections in November.  She is the New Zealand Country Liaison, and the Oceania Regional Liaison for The Save Movement.
