The Climate Save Movement is building a grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis by ending animal agriculture, reforesting the Earth and phasing out fossil fuels. Help save the planet by going vegan and becoming active. Animal agriculture is a key source of greenhouse gas emissions,
which can all be eliminated entirely. It is also the leading source of ocean dead zones, deforestation, mass species extinctions, and excessive water use. Veganism and reforestation are critical parts of climate actions and, along with eliminating fossil fuels, are our last hope against catastrophic tipping points for our climate.
The climate change crisis is upon us, and we must urgently rise to mitigate and reverse it. The great news is that there are new Climate Save groups being formed all around the world!
A new Save Tour begins! Organizers Nevenka and Gisela will be visiting Uruguay and Brasil, presenting the new branches (Climate Save Movement & Health Save Movement) through different activities, as well as sharing vigils with existing groups and building community.
Gisela and Nevenka gave a talk to more than 80 students at a school in Pan de Azúcar, Uruguay. They talked about speciesism, the importance of taking action and the different types of activities that they can participate in with The Save Movement.

Marketwatch.com: I thought my meatless burger was the real thing — and that’s why the meat industry is headed for trouble
Read about Beyond Meat’s explosive growth in this article by Joshua Specht divides his time between Melbourne, Australia, where he teaches American history at Monash University, and South Bend, Indiana. He is the author of Red Meat Republic: A Hoof-to-Table History of How Beef Changed America. “Investors in Tyson Foods and Smithfield Foods parent WH Group should be worried about the conversations these meatless burgers are starting.” “Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods, both of which are made from plant-based ingredients, stress their environmental benefits. Beyond Meat has a video on its website that explicitly talks about the problems of beef production. Beyond Meat’s prospectus further lists a “brand mission aligned with consumer trends” as a strength, specifically highlighting “public awareness” about the problems of producing traditional meat.
“U.S. consumers seem to be biting, and not just the 5% or so who call themselves vegans or vegetarians. An Ipsos survey of 2,010 U.S. adults found 49% of Americans are interested in plant-based meat, with that percentage at 67% for 18-to-34-year-olds. The numbers are even higher for “clean meat” (lab-grown). Personal health benefits are the most important factor according to survey participants, but more than 40% of respondents also highlighted animal welfare and “environmental benefits” as important factors.
“Beyond Meat says its sales have surged to $87.9 million in 2018, from $16.2 million in 2016, admittedly still a small part of the U.S.’s $270 billion meat market, as it seeks to appeal to mainstream eaters.”
Balanced will be working with Health Save Movement to veganize menus. Balanced is a public health and nutrition advocacy organization campaigning for healthier menus in schools, hospitals, and other critical institutions. We believe everyday people, communities, and organizations like ours have the power to transform the food system by encouraging institutions to improve the healthfulness of their menus and demanding change from the food industry.
The Mirror UK: Eating bacon is ‘as likely to cause cancer as ASBESTOS’
Dr Charlotte Houltram, who supports the “Give Bacon The Boot” campaign, said: “Bacon is in the same category as asbestos as far as its potential to cause cancer. Why serve food that can cause life-threatening conditions? Hospitals will argue healthier options are available, but there’s no safe limit with processed meat.”
Buenos Aires Health Save report about their street food campaign: “Vegan Street Food is our campaign to bring healthy vegan meals to people living in the streets in conditions of social vulnerability. We believe the best nutrition should be available for everyone, and our Buenos Aires chapter is putting it to the test. For our May 20 event, we served a quinoa medallion with an organic tofu and carrot dressing, zuccini and rice scramble and a salad made of cabbage, lettuce, radishes and sesame seeds. Whole grains, legumes, seeds and vegetables. Everything people need to eat more of to thrive.”
We’re taking evidence-based nutrition to the streets. If you’d like to start a Health Save chapter, send us an email to email@example.com and we’ll get in touch 🙂
If you would like to bear witness but don’t have Save vigils near you, consider starting a group. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or check out thesavemovement.org for info on how to get started! We will help you every step of the way.

Unfortunately, the Government of Canada has pledged $10 million to help Conestoga “Meat” Packers expand their operations. Conestoga kills thousands of pigs everyday. This would be in addition to a $5.3m grant that the provincial government awarded the company in 2017. The government should not be using taxpayer money to support killing animals and destroying the planet’s climate, but instead they should be subsidising vegan food production. We demand that Minister Bibeau reverse this decision and acknowledge that animal agriculture is cruel, unnecessary, damaging to human health, a leading cause of climate change and needs to be stopped. Please help by boycotting companies that exploit animals, attend a vigil, and sign our petition. We also have a draft letter that you can send to the Minister. To access the draft letter and sign our petition, please see the Change.org page.
Please join our Toronto Chicken Save weekly Thursday evening vigils beginning at 6:00 pm. Bring a friend, relative, co-worker. Help us to wake people up, create activists, and to build a mass movement to end this violent industry.
He promised activists that he wants dialogue regarding the new slaughterhouse his company is building in London, Ontario. Despite their request that he attend the open house regarding the slaughterhouse project, he didn’t show. Activists still attended, however, setting up their own booth on speciesism and advocating for chickens among the Maple Leaf exhibitors. Please watch.
Vancouver Chicken Save report from their vigil at Halmmark “Poulttry” slaughter plant: “This sweet baby. She can’t stand. She is struggling. She is in pain. She is scared. She is dead now. Please don’t support this industry that exploits and tortures innocent beings. Join us in ending this unnecessary cruelty.”

Newark Animal Save shared this short doc: “Vigil.” It captures quite well the experience of being at a vigil and bearing witness.
Toronto Pig Save started in December 2010, with a promise to the pigs of doing a minimum of three vigils and vegan outreach events each week, all year round. We bear witness as a community of pigs, cows, chickens and other farmed animal victims in slaughterhouse trucks. The animals want us to be present and, with the most pleading eyes, ask for our help when we see them through the portholes of transport trucks. Just as if we were in those horrid trucks, we would want the whole community to be there fighting for our freedom, liberation, rights, and equality. In a way, we are there. All life is one and, “when (wo)men wish to harm others, they really do evil to themselves,” Leo Tolstoy said in his animal rights story “Esarhaddon, King of Assyria”. It’s our positive duty and obligation to act in the present to try to stop the most egregious injustices before us.
“When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to her who suffers, and try to help her.” – Leo Tolstoy
In 8 years, The Save Movement has grown to over 660 Save groups in 70 countries around the world. Our dream is to have regular vigils at every slaughter plant worldwide. We regularly give seed money to new Save groups and require funds for literature, posters, subway ad campaigns (iVegan.ca) and vegan outreach events.
Make animal liberation your priority in life! Think of 10 kind things you can do each day and encourage your friends to do the same! Join us and participate in our weekly vigils, start a Save group in your community, and be a regular donor.
