Regan Russell was killed in front of Fearmans pig slaughterhouse in Burlington, Ontario, while attending a vigil on the morning of Friday, June 19, 2020. That day she attended the vigil at Fearmans to peacefully protest ag gag Bill 156, which passed two days prior in Ontario. Regan always provided love and compassion for animals and respect for drivers, workers, the public and fellow activists. Regan was a kind, elegant, strong, and courageous person. She was a mentor to others, and she always did activism with kindness in her heart. Regan was one of Canada’s animal activism pioneers and was involved in multiple other movements, including gender equality and racial justice.

Regan believed strongly that all beings are equals, and that informed her activism. Every day ten thousand pigs are killed at Fearmans, we would like that in honor of Regan Russell that you take the following measures.
