2025 Annual Report
In 2025, we launched the Slaughterhouse Industry Spotlight campaign to shine light on the entire slaughter industry and to use a comprehensive campaign with multiple tactics, including advocacy for zoning laws banning slaughterhouses. After seven years of animal vigils, Orange County Animal Save closed a wet market when activists visited Garden Grove City Hall and found that a zoning law regulation that banned the sale and slaughter of live animals was being breached by Tiem Ga Vit live market. The permit allowed them to slaughter a maximum of 50 chickens a day, but evidence was collected to show they were slaughtering over 300 chickens each day. After activists reported this violation to the Code Enforcement department, the live market had its permit revoked in October 2025 and was permanently closed.
