Melbourne Chicken Save joined with Direct Action Everywhere Melbourne and The Animal Activist Collective on February 25 to take the slaughterhouse to the city. They report:
“At our Slaughter in the City event, we displayed images and footage captured at a recent DXE slaughterhouse shutdown. The 6 amazing speakers on the day, relayed their stories of horror and despair at what was witnessed inside the slaughterhouse. We ended the rally with a procession around the city mall, displaying the images and chanting It’s Not Food, It’s Violence. The day was a huge success with maximum public engagement. 1000’s of flyers were handed out and most people were shocked to see how their ‘food’ is abused and killed.”

HONG KONG

Hong Kong Pig Save had a great turnout at their latest vigil on February 25. They report:
“Every time I reached the abattoir, gazing at the queue of pig trucks, I was as if being trapped in that repeating moment. Day by day and month by month… thousands of injured dispairing bodies are devastated there. Violence merges with fresh blood. Bearing witness is sorely a process of connection making, so next time is it your turn to defend them?”
