FIRST VIGIL
Newcastle Animal Save held their first vigil on March 1 at the Baiada chicken slaughter plant in Beresfield. They report:
“A big thankyou to everyone who came out last night for Newcastle Animal Save’s first vigil at the Baiada chicken slaughterhouse. It was lovely to meet you all and I really appreciate you taking the time to bear witness to chickens on their way to slaughter and help to spread the vegan message. Hope to see you all at the next one!”

Bedfordshire Animal Save report from their recent vigil for the cows:
“We saw these beautiful gentle beings at our vigil today. They were born to die. A short life with a violent ending all to please someone’s taste buds.
Please see them as someone. They want to live. They feel pain, joy & love – they are no different to us.”

Guildford Animal Save held a vigil on February 28 at ABP Guildford slaughter plant. They report:
“We are forever grateful for another amazing turn out for our monthly vigils. Almost a year since we started and we have come a long way; new people at every vigil we hold, which only projects the vegan message further. Not forgetting the animals we have bore witness to over the last year, our new banner indicates how many. Change will happen, we already see it, and our dedicated activists are making it so.”

North Carolina Farmed Animal Save and local environmental groups organized the CAFOs Have Got To Go! event in Wilmington, North Carolina, on February 24 with the goal of bringing about the end of factory farms and the severe environmental destruction they cause. They report:
“CAFOs Have Got To Go! protest today was great! Thank you to everyone who came out to stand with us today to educate Wilmington about the terrible impacts of factory farming.”
The event was covered by local TV news: Factory farm protesters display 20-foot sign in front of Wilmington Trader Joe’s

Boston Animal Save held a double vigil on March 1 at two slaughterhouse sites. They report:
“Thank you to everyone who came out to our double vigil today! We stood peacefully outside Den Besten slaughterhouse in Bridgewater MA, which culminated in excitement when a worker came outside shouting and waving knives at us. Thankfully the situation didn’t escalate further. We then peacefully protested outside the construction site of a nonprofit slaughterhouse, Meatworks, in Westport, MA.
It was very special to have Anita Krajnc, the co-founder of The Save Movement, join us today as well!”

“When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to her who suffers, and try to help her.” – Leo Tolstoy
