In order to bring the issue of animal agriculture to the forefront of the environmental/climate movement in Toronto, many Climate Vegan activists took part in the Climate March for The Planet, Animals, and People on April 29, 2017. They marched in unity with all climate march events globally raising awareness about the current climate crisis which severely impacts the planet, the animals and people worldwide. The march ended at the rallying point for the People’s Climate March, organized by groups such as 350.org.

On April 25, The Save Movement #Livewitness project held its third event in London, Ontario. Organizer Shannon Drown reports:
“The Save Movement #livewitness Project landed in London as part of the London Chicken Save All Day Vigil. The teams at the slaughterhouse and downtown worked together to raise awareness of the hidden violence in the city. The location downtown was incredibly effective: we reached schoolchildren, people eating in restaurants, pedestrians, and travellers in cars and buses. Thank you so much to everyone who was involved – what an incredible experience with amazing activists! Huge shout-out to Glassroots for setting the team up with a beautiful and delicious lunch. Another shout-out to Robin Bryce, the creative force behind some really powerful signs!”

“When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to her who suffers, and try to help her.” – Leo Tolstoy
In six years, The Save Movement has grown to over 300 Save groups around the world. Our dream is to have regular vigils at every slaughter plant worldwide. We regularly give seed money to new Save groups and require funds for literature, posters, subway ad campaigns (iVegan.ca) and vegan outreach events.
